What is the GEN Grove?

The GEN Grove is a facilitated interactive online space for both our members and our wider community to meet and share meditation, poetry, read articles, project ideas and anything they feel inspired to bring.

Starting in 2011, a tradition emerged at Global Diversity Foundation’s Global Environments Summer Academy. Whether it was in the Kent countryside, the Swiss Alps in Bern or The Rachel Carson Center in Munich, Academy members would meet and gather under a grove of trees. Groups of environmental changemakers would naturally gravitate to one another under a leafy copse, generating enriching conversation and exchange. This tradition continued at future events at community exchanges, retreats and ethnobotany breaks and has extended to become the GEN Grove.

The GEN Grove on Ecological Exploration – January 2022

14:00 CET, January 25th, 2022

In our first GEN Grove of 2022, we shall be holding an ecological exploration writing session. Facilitated by Serah Daisy, we shall create a space to explore collective memory of nature through our connection with technology. A live writing document will be created including writing prompts and space of possibility for people to add quotes, writing and share whatever they feel comfortable sharing (anonymously or not). GEN invites people to come as they are and ready to listen, write, share and be in a budding explorative space where all who wish to join are welcome.

Facilitated by Serah Daisy

Serah Daisy is a cross-dimensional artist, an independent scholar and a spirit led healing practitioner. They are black, queer, disabled and tired of colonial dominance ruling our collective imaginations, possibilities and lives. They are a shapeshifter, & a time traveller who utilises different modalities of healing and liberation practices to create, channel and transmute what they can and what they must on this plain.

Please consider the following: We are not therapists or able to take the role of therapist. We will be holding a compassionate, brave space to engage in practices that may move you but we are unable to take responsibility for anyone’s healing process or mental health. We will be providing embodied support tools to help regulate the nervous system and create supportive resources to ground us. We ask you to consider if you have the emotional and mental capacity to engage, which may bring up complex feelings.

Previous GEN Groves on Ecological Grief were held on 23rd November 2021 and 21st December 2021.
